Trending: our 2024 design predictions
When the first of January rolls around, it's easy to get swept away with the urge to start fresh with, well, everything! Home interiors are no exception, with the new year ushering in the urge to declutter and redecorate.
Before you restyle your entire home, we partnered up with our friends at Rose & Grey to chat about all things design forecasting. The good news is that in 2024, we're set to see a move towards a more eclectic take on styling. It's a more personal approach, with pieces being chosen because they mean something to you, not just because they're trending. It's more sustainable, too, since carefully chosen special pieces won't go out of style just because fashion changes! We're all for this more mindful attitude.
That said, it's still fun to get out the crystal ball and see what's going to take the design world by storm. Let's take a look at the trends we expect to see more of in 2024.

colour drenching
As certified colour lovers, you know we're all about this one! The term colour drenching refers to coating a room in one colour – we're talking walls, ceiling, furnishings, everything! It can work really well to inject a dose of colour while keeping the space sleek and streamlined since there aren't too many competing elements.
If you're nervous about colour drenching, we recommend starting with a more muted colour (check out Rose & Grey's colour predictions for 2024 while you're at it!). One of our favourite tricks is to match the walls to your locker by taking a colour swatch or keyring to the paint shop and asking them to mix up a perfect match.

organic shapes
No doubt you've noticed organic forms are everywhere! From ceramics to linens, 2024 looks set to feature more wonderfully wiggly shapes. Bring this trend into your home with small accent pieces, like a hand-hewn vase or decorative bowl. Organic, perfectly imperfect lines add personality and interest with their unique shapes.

retro revival
We may be looking forward to next year's trends, but we predict we'll be getting a little nostalgic in 2024! With the retro revival in full swing, expect to see a resurgence of mid-century and beyond styling. Bold wallpaper in statement patterns is here to stay, and so too are textures like velvet, boucle and corduroy. Even tiles are getting a vintage makeover, with retro patterns coming back in a big way.

statement floors
Speaking of floors, 2024 is set to be their moment to shine. With colour and pattern reigning supreme, we'll be seeing more feature floors, whether it be a statement tile in the entryway, a bold feature in the kitchen or a pattern clash in the bathroom. From polished concrete to terrazzo and even a vinyl comeback, it looks like we'll all be looking down a little more often!

curves continue
The arch is the shape of the moment, popping up in doorways, windows, mirrors and niches everywhere. But that's not the only place we'll be seeing curves in 2024. Soft furnishings are set to take on a rounded, softer look, offsetting the bold lines and angles of the retro aesthetic beautifully. Even walls are getting the curve treatment, with feature walls and ceilings carved into more organic shapes to create a warm, cosy and elevated sensation.
Oh, and one more trend that's not going anywhere? Lockers!
