One office, three colourways
our essentials for making your workspace pretty + productive
Designing your new home office or just looking to spruce up your desk? Whether you work from home or have a desk at work, we have come up with some of our top tips that have helped us and our teams to make our workspaces our own and can help you feel more productive and happy too! We created three dreamy desk setups using The Shorty and The Midi to show you all of our favourite ways to get ready for the workday in the best possible way.
make your storage work for you
Starting with our favourite part of the office, the storage! Sure, great storage helps your office stay neat and tidy, but when your storage is lockers then it looks super cute too! For these three office looks we have chosen The Shorty for under the desk, to keep all of the things you need within easy reach (like the snacks, obviously), with The Midi by its side for files, stationery, maybe even a printer! She is super spacious for holding all of those extra office bits and has cable holes in the back too, so if you’re wanting somewhere to hide all of the messy wires that come along with an office then she is definitely your gal!
add some greenery
Plants make you happier and that isn’t just our opinion, it is scientifically proven! We’re always looking to bring joy into our spaces and plants not only help you feel more relaxed, but they can actually make you feel more productive, improve the quality of the air around you, and they look pretty cute too! Check out our blog post with Patch to see our favourite plant + locker combos to find your new favourite plant friend!
set yourself up for success
Whether it’s a diffuser to surround yourself with some calming scents, your favourite playlist (ours depends on our mood but we love a bit of spice girls!) or a jug of water on your desk, there are little things you can add to your space to make sure you feel ready to take on the day. This gorgeous matching green carafe and glass set is from Maison Balzac, because staying hydrated is super important so why not make it look good too!
create a pretty view
In an ideal world, we’d always choose to have our desk in front of a window, but that isn’t always possible. Maybe your desk lives in the corner of your living room (like Becca’s!), doesn’t mean you have to be staring at a plain wall! A beautiful big print or piece of artwork above your desk can really liven up the space and give you something to daydream about!
surround yourself with things you like
It’s good to have things on your desk that improve your productivity, like water and soothing scents, but sometimes just having things around you that you like and bring you joy à la Marie Kondo is just as important. We love a trinket or two to dress up our lockers, so why not add your favourite vase, a craft you just completed or a nice print to your workspace to keep you smiling whenever you see it!
invest in a comfy chair
This boucle chair from Life Interiors is one of our faves - cute and comfortable! If you’re going to be spending a lot of time at your desk then having a spot to sit in that looks beautiful but most importantly supports you in all the right places is an essential.
have a proper place for planning!
We love a desk pad (or three!) because really, is there anything more satisfying than being able to properly tick something off your to-do list? Even better when it is written on a pretty planner! Some of our favourites include these from Martha Brook, MiGoals and Papier. Pretty, practical and they make us more productive, so it’s a win-win-win!
bring in the baskets
Our Baskets can be used for all sorts in the office, and we’re big believers in tidy office = tidy mind. They are great for compartmentalising the things you and making everything easy to find, because it has its own spot - in a basket! Use them inside your lockers to keep all of your important papers in one place, or pop a small one on top of your desk for a place to keep note cards or letters to post!
keep it colourful
If colour is your thing (and if you have found our lockers then we’re guessing it might be) don’t be afraid to bring it into your desk space! Mix and match your lockers to create a palette that makes you happy and gets you excited to sit down and get to work. We love our Pinks, Blues and Greens but the combinations are endless! Check out our full range of lockers and get to designing your dream desk setup!Your desk is yours, so it is important that you love it! Lockers can be a pretty handy tool for sparking joy in your workspace, if we do say so ourselves (seriously, our offices are filled with them). We hope these tips have inspired some imagination into how you can transform your own workspace. If you have any of your own tips for creating the desk space of dreams, let us know in the comments!
